Polk Bros. Foundation Vice President of Investments and Administration Amy Hill will retire in September
Polk Bros. Foundation Vice President of Investments and Administration Amy Hill has announced she will retire in September 2024 after first joining the Foundation in 2009.
“Amy’s stewardship of the Foundation’s resources has paved the way for grantmaking that makes a real difference in people’s lives,” said Polk Bros. Foundation CEO Gillian Darlow. “And her efforts to help streamline the Foundation’s processes have made, and will keep making, the application experience easier and more equitable for our grantee partners. We will miss Amy and her strategic guidance greatly, and wish her well as she starts her next chapter.”
In her role, Amy has overseen management of the Foundation’s investment portfolio and investment performance reporting, formulating financial policy and plans, budgeting, accounting, human resources, and grant administration.
“Over her years with the Foundation, Amy has become a true partner to the program staff,” said Polk Bros. Foundation Vice President of Programs Evette Cardona. “They teamed up to keep a close eye on the financial health of Chicago’s nonprofit sector, and of our grantee partners in particular, to get a clear picture of their financial situations, challenges, and plans to determine how the Foundation’s support could help them deliver on their missions.”
Prior to joining the Foundation, Amy worked with JP Morgan and predecessor institutions in commercial and private banking, managed institutional investments for Wespath, and served as a consultant with Accenture. She serves on the advisory board of Abbott Capital and previously served on the board of the Foundation Financial Officers Group (FFOG) and the FFOG Content Committee and co-edited its monthly newsletter. Amy volunteers with Catholic Charities.
“As I reflect on my time with the Foundation, I feel so grateful for the incredible people with whom I’ve had the privilege to collaborate. Their dedication to making Chicago better has inspired me every day. I look forward to embracing new adventures and all that awaits in retirement,” said Amy.
James Fawley has joined the Foundation as the new vice president of investments and administration, and will work alongside Amy until her retirement.
