Polk Bros. Foundation is pleased to announce that Anisha Crite has joined the staff as controller. In this role, Anisha is responsible for overseeing the Foundation’s financial operations, including accounting, payroll, purchasing, and banking, and ensuring alignment with organizational policies and financial best practices.
“I’m proud to join Polk Bros. Foundation, where our work helps ensure every Chicagoan has the chance to thrive — secure in home, health, education and opportunity,” said Anisha. “The Foundation is deeply committed to this city and its people. It’s an honor to help steward the Foundation’s resources in a way that supports lasting change and strengthens communities across Chicago.”
Anisha brings more than 17 years of experience in accounting, budgeting, financial analysis and research administration. She most recently served as director of finance at LUNGevity Foundation, where she led efforts to streamline financial processes related to budgeting, forecasting and audits. She began her career in the corporate sector with Ryerson Tull and transitioned to the nonprofit field in 2010 at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (now Shirley Ryan AbilityLab).
“Anisha’s deep experience and collaborative approach make her a tremendous addition to our team,” said Polk Bros. Foundation CEO Gillian Darlow. “We’re thrilled she brings both technical expertise and a strong alignment with our values during this important period of transition and growth.”
