
James Fawley

As vice president of investments and administration, James Fawley oversees Polk Bros. Foundation’s investment portfolio and investment performance reporting, helping shape financial policy and long-term planning in partnership with the Foundation’s CEO, Investment Committee and investment advisor. He also oversees human resources and supervises the Foundation’s budgeting, accounting and grants administration functions. James joined the Foundation in 2024 and brings leadership experience across nonprofit organizations, multinational corporations and start-ups. Before joining Polk Bros. Foundation, he served as vice president of finance and chief financial officer at The Morton Arboretum, where he helped strengthen the institution’s long-term financial sustainability. Earlier in his career, he held strategic leadership roles at Coskata, Inc. and BP p.l.c. James serves as principal violist with the DuPage Symphony Orchestra and has held board leadership roles with the orchestra and the Elementary School District 181 Foundation.
